sino-japanese-war-c1895-granger     Sept. 3. 1945, marks the anniversary of the end of the second Sino-Japanese war (1937-1945) , called by the Chinese The War of Resistance Against Japan, leading to Japan’s defeat. The outcome of the first Sino-Japanese war (1894-1895) was the recognition by China of the independence of Korea. The Chinese government recently (feb 27 2014) established sept. 3. as “Victory Day” . The commemoration of the day took place in 80 state facilities and sites chosen by the Chinese State Council. The grandiose given by the Chinese government to the occasion, adds to a “pre-Cold War” climate  forming in eastern Asia between the two long-time rivals.
